Never Played Park Golf?
Good. Most Players Haven't Either.
One club. One ball. 18 holes: Park golf was born in Hokkaido, Japan in 1983 and is played competitively across Asia. The format uses a single specialized club, a different ball, and an 18-hole course designed for strategy, accuracy, and genuine competition.
Built to be picked up fast: It is exceptionally intuitive to learn yet deeply challenging to master – which is precisely why it is expanding so quickly across North America as a premier choice for outdoor sport on the East Coast.
The course at 1Club: Our 18-hole course sits in Vernon Valley, close to the Wawayanda State Park, surrounded by the Kittatinny Mountains. If you never picked up a club, you will find your rhythm within a few holes. If you have been playing for years, you will find that the competitive field is entirely real and our course is quite challenging.
A unique addition to summer activities in New Jersey
One hour from New York City. 18 holes of competitive park golf. Built into the natural rolling terrain of Vernon Valley, close to Wawayanda State Park and surrounded by the Kittatinny Mountains.
This is not a mini-golf course or a driving range. Park golf is a real sport with real championships – but with the lights, the music, the relaxed rules, and the container bar, it is also one of the most genuinely fun ways to spend an afternoon or evening outdoors.
Think of it as the pickleball of golf – easier to pick up, just as addictive once you start.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is park golf the same as regular golf?
No. Park golf uses a single specialized club for every shot, a different ball, and courses built specifically for the format. It is competitive, strategic, and genuinely accessible to players who have never picked up a standard golf club. If you play regular golf, the transition is quick. If you have never played at all, you will still be competing at a reasonable level within a round or two.
Do I need to play the NA Championship to enter the Classic?
No. Both events are completely independent. You can register for one or both. There is no requirement to compete in July to be eligible for the Japan trip prize in August.
Are both tournaments officially IPGAA-sanctioned?
Yes. Both the North American Park Golf Championship on July 25 and the 1Club Park Golf Classic on August 22 are fully sanctioned by the International Park Golf Association.
What exactly does the Japan trip giveaway include?
Both division winners will travel to Japan to represent the United States at a park golf championship later this year. The prize covers round-trip flights, accommodations for the duration of the event, and the championship registration fee. The specific event is being finalized by ownership and the IPGAA, and details will be shared once confirmed.
What divisions are available?
Both events offer separate male and female divisions with awards for the top three finishers in each field.
